Abstract:

The commonest sprainting (faecal deposition) sites were small grassy mounds, usually at the limit of grass cover at the shore edge. Lutra lutra particularly marked the mouths of streams or drains, probably a reflection of freshwater drinking requirements. Spraint analysis indicates an opportunistic diet which includes a wide range of fish, with rocklings and wrasse the most frequently taken.-P.J.Jarvis
