Abstract: | The significance of selected bacterial infections of felines in zoological gardens is discussed. Anthrax and malleus are in Germany of historical interest only, tuberculosis went down very strongly. Isolated cases of pseudotuberculosis must be expected in future. Infections with bacteria of the genera Chlamydia, Pasteurella and of the family Enterobacteriaceae are also considered. The significance of Clostridium perfringens in the so called tiger disease is discussed. |
